Hi LIC Team,
It would be better if you could publish the details of minimum investment amount, online application form link, portfolio of investments, Estimated return in LICINDIA.in website.

Hello Saravanan,

Thank you for your suggestion.
This is not the LIC’s official site.
You can submit your feedback at licinda.in

However, the Minimum investment under this plan is Rs.25000/- (One time premium)

Estimated returns are:
Maturity Sum Assured + Guaranteed Addition ( 9% or 10% per year 5 or 10 year plan respectively) + and Loyalty Addition, if any.

If you are in Mumbai then drop an email of your requirement at info@mylicindia.com we will arrange someone to pickup your document and form.

Thanks.

drops to one third of this or twice the initial amount. This fact is not highlighted. Am I right? How much will I get at the end of the tenure for 1 lac and 50,000/= invested for 10 yrs.? Is there any ready reference table available with you? If so why not put it on the the site.

This is an Investment plan and I only recommend this plan if you are looking for investment.

Return after 10 year would be Double of your investment + Loyalty addition ( Approx 4% of your investment)

i.e if you invest 1 lakh then 2 lakh in Guaranteed + Loyalty addition.

I do not have ready reference table but you are free to ask me if you have any question.

Reply

Tabrej Reply:

@amit joshi,

I think you misunderstood this plan. This is ONE time premium. you will need to pay once and no other payment in next 5 yrs.

i.e If you invest 1 lakh initially, there will be NO recurring premium. Your risk cover would be 6 times of your premium in first year and then risk cover would be one-third.

Return on maturity: 1 lakh + 9% return per year + LA. =Approx 12% return over and above your premium.

Hi,

I have invested in Jeevan Aastha for Rs.56991 for a period of 5 years…as per the policy my matured sum is only Rs.55000 and all guaranteed additions is based on only 55000. I dont even get the full amount which i have invested in the policy..Kindly clarify me and what will be the amount i will receive after 5 years

No, on maturity you will get MSA + 9%pa + LA.
You will get approx 80k on maturity.

I am not clear. Even though i have invested Rs.56991 my matured sum is Rs. 55000 and all calculations is made on matured some only.
If my matured sum is same as what i have invested that is 56991 on maturity i will receive 9% + LA ie it works out to 82636.95 + LA
But since as per LIC my matured sum is Rs. 55000 only i will receive only 79750.00 + LA

Why the matured sum is less than what i have invested ?

Tabrej Reply:

@Sowmya,

That depends on your age. whats your age?
i.e. If your Basic Sum assured is 3 lakh then you would receive 3 lakh/6 = 50,000 + 9% pa + LA

I have taken this policy last year. If i remember correctly then LIC had assured tax benefit for some amount (suppose if i had taken the policy for 25000 last year then for this year i.e., 2009-10 i can claim tax benefit for say 15000/12000???) is this correct
Please let me know.

I think my question was not clear. I will try to explain again
Last year i purchased jeevan aastha for 25000 (amount paid-26205) and i claimed tax benefit for 2008-09 for the amount paid(26205). My doubt is, can i claim tax benefit this year also (if not for full amount atleast for part amount say 15000). For what amount can i claim tax benefit ? 15000? 12000?. Sorry for the inconvinence.

Tabrej Reply:

For onetime Premiums, you can not claim tax benefit every year. However, you can claim tax benefit every year, if you are paying premium every year in any insurance policy.

But as per the policy, if i am correct, we can claim tax benefit for 3 years though the amount decreases for each year 26205, 15000…,12000. However, this clause is nowhere mentioned in the bond.

Tabrej Reply:

Which clause are you referring to?

There is two tax benefit and these are:
1. Tax benefit under Sec 80C on initial premium.
2. Maturity benefit is non taxable under Sec 10 (10D).

I am refering to Sec 80C as maturity benefit will come only after the end of 3 years or when i close the policy.
